NECRC delivers programs and services from three locations along Selkirk Avenue in Winnipeg’s North End. Some of our programming include Citizen’s Bridge, PATH Employability Centre, Tenant Landlord Corporation, and more.
The Downtown Community Safety Partnership (DCSP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a safer and more welcoming downtown. We provide 24/7 assistance to support vulnerable and at-risk individuals and enhance community safety, health and well-being for everyone who works, resides, or visits downtown Winnipeg.
Bear Clan Patrol came about as a result of the ongoing need to assume our traditional responsibility to provide security to our Aboriginal community. The concept behind the patrol, then, is community people working with the community to provide personal security in the inner city in a non-threatening, non-violent and supportive way.
Our indigenous-influenced group will walk beside, support, and advocate for the community of Winnipeg, as our goal is to help people from all walks of life. Reinforced by our belief in Lateral Love, Lateral Empathy, and Lateral Unity, we hope to encourage an abundance of Compassion, Camaraderie, Positivity, and Altruism for everyone we engage with.
Ikwe Widdjiitiwin is an Indigenous Crisis Shelter for survivors & victims of gender-based violence in Winnipeg. It strives to support Indigenous women and their children end family violence, by offering shelter during crisis and nurturing hope, change and empowerment for tomorrow.
OPK primarily works with Indigenous men from the age of 16 to 40 years old who have had involvement with gangs, and/or the criminal justice system. Services include: community support, crisis intervention , consultation, connection to Indigenous Traditional community, and community service opportunities .
Ndinawe is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping youth in Winnipeg.
Since 1993, our integrated services have been connecting children and youth aged 11–24 with the shelter, culture, recreation, education, outreach and support they need for safe and healthy lives.
Spirit Horse Initiative is a community based non-profit group. At Spirit Horse Initiative, our goal is to help people leave gangs. We use Action therapy, which is therapy in motion. The therapy occurs when engaged in activities of volunteerism, positive activism, culture/ceremony, and land activities. One-on-one therapeutic discussions happen spontaneously and outside of the normal sit-down talk therapy.
